In this category, challengers worked collaboratively As One to complete the tax assignment. This year's Team Category saw the highest number of participants in DTC history, with an increase of 23 teams comparative to the previous year, totaling to 193 teams vying for 5 spots in the Grand Finals.

Due to a very close competition among the top performing teams, the judges recommended and organising committee concurred to increase the number of teams going through the finals from initial 5 to 6 teams. What's next for the Finalists?

Presentation Skills Workshop
Interesting and fun-filled workshops facilitated by professional trainers will be held at the Deloitte office in Kuala Lumpur on 9 November 2016. These workshops are designed to guide and prepare the finalists on their presentation skills and prepare them to take on the final challenge with style and confidence. The itinerary is as below:

Jeffrey is a Certified Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Trainer for the Registered Financial Planner (RFP) by the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC). He is also a Certified Basic Agency Management Course (BAMC) Trainer by the Malaysian Insurance Institute.

Jeffrey believes that the best way to learn is by engaging participants in various fun activities. Checking the Box of Tax as a Career

Yee Wing Peng is the Business Tax Leader of Deloitte Southeast Asia and Country Tax Leader of Deloitte Malaysia. Alongside being a member of the Deloitte SEA Executive Committee, Wing Peng has over 24 years of experience in audit and tax with extensive experience in advising companies on inbound and outbound investments. He speaks regularly in national and regional forums alike. He is an examiner for the advanced taxation paper of MICPA and a member of the Industry Expert Advisory Panel for the Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) program at TARUC.

Hsu Chuang has over 17 years of experience covering financial markets in Asia and Europe for The Edge, Bloomberg and Reuters. He is currently a co-host for Malaysia's leading business and finance radio show, BFM 89.9 and a columnist for Kuala Lumpur's weekly financial paper, Focus Malaysia.

1:30p.m. - 2:30p.m. Presenting and Conducting Live Interviews in a Studio
By Lee Siad Huey

Siad Huey was the Organising Chairman of the Ninth Malaysian National Intervarsity Debating Championship. Holding a Bachelor of Law from University of Malaya, she is also the editor-in-chief of Malaysia's first book on debating.

In 2009, she joined NTV7 and has since took up multiple roles in the broadcasting and television industry, including TV host, Chinese news broadcaster, producer and journalist. She has hosted numerous talk shows such as "What Say You", "Editor's Time", "All About Sport", "Zoom in PKFZ Scandals" and "GE 13 Polling Night". The show, "Editor's Time" had won the 2012 NTV7 Golden Awards for best current issue program.

Siad Huey is now a practicing lawyer.

Ian is the Executive Director of Transfer Pricing for Deloitte Malaysia. He has over 15 years of experience in Transfer Pricing, having worked in the UK, India and Malaysia.

He has experience on policy design, implementation review, documentation and controversy management for clients across a wide range of industry sectors. He also has extensive experience of negotiation with many leading tax authorities, including the US, UK, India, South Africa and Australia.

Grand Finals - Individual and Team Category
The final stage of the challenge will be held at Deloitte office in Kuala Lumpur on 10 November 2016. Confident finalists will take the center stage one by one, delivering their best presentation in front of a panel of judges that will evaluate the challengers on various criteria including technical competency, presentation skills and English proficiency.

Gala dinner
DTC 2016 draws to a close with the gala dinner held at the One World Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on the evening of 10 November. Finalists will be given the chance to unwind as we lead up to the crest of this competition - the announcement of DTC 2016 Champions!

Distinguished guests comprising DTC sponsors, lecturers and Deloitte alumni are invited attend the dinner to witness the announcements of winners. Each individual category finalist will have the privilege to bring along one guest to the gala dinner. Each team finalist can invite two guests to attend the dinner with team.
